**The Opportunity**:

- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for an **Assets System Officer** to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Assets & Infrastructure Planning Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining Council's Asset Management System and infrastructure mapping layers, and providing support to staff relating to the delivery and maintenance of existing assets and support the organisation on asset management. This includes development of the Asset Management System and infrastructure mapping layers to achieve capability that aligns with best practice asset management, mobile computing, maintenance, operating, renewal and new/upgrade planning and end of year reporting.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- To provide technical support to the Infrastructure and Economy Department on asset management.
- Liaise with Infrastructure and Economy Department Asset Custodians on GIS, asset management, works prioritisation and administrative matters affecting the role and function of the position.
- Partner with the finance department to provide assistance on asset accounting matters.
- To provide information to the public and external organisations regarding asset detail as required through the relevant manager, including annual reports.

**About you**:

- Experience in report writing and high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to organise work to meet deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- High level analytical skills including identification of problems, assessment of alternative solutions and development of recommendations.
- A certificate/diploma in asset management or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of Work Health Safety Act and Regulations, Freedom of Information legislation and relevant Australian Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to be fully conversant with statutory requirements and established guidelines as applied to Local Government Engineering, Asset and Risk Management and ability to interpret legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated computer knowledge and expertise appropriate to engineering and asset management functions including skills in use of Technology One Asset Management software and GIS Mapping software (preferably MapInfo or QGIS).
- Sound understanding of financial concepts as applied to Asset Management strategies.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated commitment to provide high level customer service to ratepayers and the community, meeting Council’s Customer Service Charter.
