**About the Role**:
The Domestic Assistants purpose is to enable people to enjoy a full, rewarding, and independent life, while being empathetic and compassionate.
You are required to provide personal assistance to people living in their own home in the community, including a range of personal care assistance, domestic assistance (basic cleaning) and local community and lifestyle assistance.
You will work independently in client homes based on needs identified in the Home Care Support Plan, using a person-centred approach. Our Domestic Assistants are passionate about empowering clients and making a difference in their lives through compassionate service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide support with meal preparation and consumption, ensuring that food hygiene standards are met
- Provide domestic assistance including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting and cleaning the bathroom, toilet, kitchen and laundry facilities.
- General laundering of personal clothing, bed linen and towels.
- Provide support with grocery shopping, attending appointments, payment of accounts.
- Provide mobility assistance including transfers (e.g. to/from bed, to/from wheelchair/mobility aid, to/from toilet).
- The ability to undertake all physical requirements involved with domestic assistance including lifting, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, trunk twisting, kneeling, standing and sitting for duration.
**About You**:
1. You will have your Qld Drivers Licence and your own reliable vehicle.
2. Demonstrated industry experience within the community or aged & disability sector in providing domestic assistance to clients living in the community.
3. Ability to use initiative in responding to the needs of clients and their families, as outlined in the support plan, while keeping professional boundaries in place
4. Knowledge of, and empathy with, the needs of people with mental health issues, disabilities, elderly people and their carers.
5. Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or the willingness to obtain.
6. National police check or the willingness to obtain one.

**Salary**: From $27.89 per hour
