Downer acts as the facility manager at The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH). The RAH is the largest, busiest and most technologically advanced hospital in Australia with 800 single in-patient rooms, including 100 same-day beds and 80,000 same-day and overnight patient admissions per year.

**About The Role**

This hands-on position will draw on your previous cleaning experience as you play a key role in providing an efficient service to a very high standard across the hospital. Availability to work across a 24/7 roster is highly regarded.

**Your main duties will include, but are not limited to**:

- Provide a hygienic environment for patients, visitors and staff at the RAH
- Undertaking duties such as floor care, dusting, damp wiping and spot cleaning of doors, internal glass, bathrooms & toilets, fixture, fittings & vents
- Learning to undertake specialist cleaning duties such as infectious or forensic cleans in both reactive and scheduled cleans
- Assisting with waste management duties including collection and disposal of different waste streams
- Following specific work schedules and work instructions
- Maintaining proper disinfection and sanitisation of all areas.

**About You**

**To be successful in this role, you will hold the below skills and experience**:

- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster
- Previous experience in a cleaning or waste related role
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment or hospital is highly desirable
- An understanding of cleaning/infection control procedures and protocols
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and strong initiative
- Displays competency in the reading and writing of English to enable required duties to be performed safely and to acceptable levels
- Sound time management and organisational skills
