**About Us**
At Development Victoria, we create places for people.
We reimagine iconic places to transform them for future generations, unlock public land to develop connected and sustainable precincts, and build affordable and diverse homes where they’re needed.
We’re a government agency delivering places that make a genuine difference to the people of Victoria, and we partner with government, industry, and community to make it all happen.
Our unique and rewarding career opportunities are enhanced by our diverse range of projects that really matter to people and to the future of our state - making every workday worthwhile.
We are proud to support a culture where our people thrive because of the diversity that they bring - this is recognised as key to the success of our organisation.
We respect and value individual talents and contributions and harness those strengths to achieve results we can all be proud of.
**The Role**
This is a key supporting role within our First Peoples Partnerships team, which is responsible for shaping and embedding an organisation wide commitment to First Peoples partnerships and outcomes through the leadership and ongoing development of DV’s First Peoples Partnership strategy.
DV’s First Peoples Partnership strategy draws on the Transport Portfolio Aboriginal Self-Determination Plan and is focused on:
1. _Relationships_: Taking a more coordinated, transparent and proactive approach to fostering partnerships with Traditional Owner groups at an organisation-wide level. We will be responsive to the needs and preferences of Traditional Owner groups and invite them to self-determine what successful partnership and meaningful outcomes looks like for them.
2. _Capability_: Raising the cultural capability of our team members to deeply listen to, understand, collaborate with, and celebrate First Peoples’ ways of knowing, being and doing.
3. _Ways of Working_: We will seek out opportunities to partner with Traditional Owner groups throughout the project lifecycle and give our people the tools and time to deliver the outcomes First Peoples communities are seeking. We will learn by doing.
The primary objective of the Advisor, First Peoples Partnerships is to support effective collaboration with Traditional Owner groups, First Peoples organisations and other areas of government.
You will seek to leverage these relationships to deliver on self-determination and realise meaningful outcomes for First Peoples communities through DV’s exciting portfolio of projects.
**About You**
- Experience engaging and working collaboratively with Traditional Owner groups to realise meaningful outcomes for First Peoples communities
- Experience working on projects across various sectors, but particularly in the built environment, would be preferable, but not essential
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative by nature and enjoy working as part of a diverse team
If you want to talk to someone about the role, contact Jessica Cheers at 0427243377.
