**The Role**:
This role is a key team leadership role within the Information and Communication Technology Team. The role has significant input into ICT Projects that incorporate networking and telecommunications, together with the day to day management of the Network and Telecommunications team. The role is also part of the ICT Extended Leadership Team and has input into prioritisation of departmental projects and initiatives. The purpose of the Team Leader - Network and Telecommunications is to provide team leadership, day to day coordination and prioritisation of workload to support the 24x7 availability of key ICT network infrastructure and telecommunication services for RCH.

The key responsibilites you will have as the Team Leader - Network and Telecommunications include:
**Strategic Leadership**:

- Provide technical leadership of the ICT Network and Telecommunications Team.
- Work with vendors to identify opportunities for improvement, leveraging technology to improve ways of working across networks and telecommunications.
- Develop lifecycle management plans that assess future requirements of network architecture.
- Contribute to and implementation of the ICT strategy roadmap.
- Identify and manage capital works programs across networks and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Develop documentation to support the network architecture.
- Provide technology leadership and advocacy to RCH.

**Team Leadership**:

- Lead team member participation to ensure ongoing excellence in service delivery and teamwork.
- Creating team culture that encourages a customer focus and collaboration to find solutions and resolve issues.
- Ensuring knowledge sharing, continuous learning and skills maintenance & development across all team members
- Liaising with technical teams ensuring high levels of professionalism, operational efficiency, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer engagement & satisfaction
- Working with initiative, autonomy and leading others in the pursuit of team goals and organisational goals

**Technical Expertise**:

- Provide technical leadership and Subject Matter Expertise in respect of data networking and telecommunications.
- Monitoring of operational dashboards and tools to proactively address alerts and issues.
- Ensure operational 24x7 availability and resilience of data networks (wired and wireless) and telecommunications services.
- Maintain security of data networks.
- Actively manage the uplift security program of works across the networks and telecommunications infrastructure to support the implementation of controls.
- Capacity planning of network and telecommunications infrastructure to meet demand, usage and growth forecasts.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery documentation, planning and testing.
- Supporting ICT Major Incidents.
