**About the Role**:
We currently have an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced Category Specialist to join our Procurement Team, based at our head office located in the CBD.
Working within the Network Services category, this position will focus on developing effective and tactical suppliers through designing and implementing sourcing plans and strategies.
Working collaboratively with the assigned Category Manager, this role will be key in establishing strong supplier relationships focusing on improving operational efficiency, quality and cost of all third-party suppliers of CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy. In addition, the role will also proactively manage risk and performance for all Network Services procurement categories.
**About you**:
**In this role you will deliver**:
- Develop, manage and oversee lower value RFx’s, along with completing detailed pre & post RFx analysis
- Engage and understand Business Unit (BU) needs and ensure their requirements are reflected in RFx
- Maintain category purchasing and user profiles, and conduct market analysis and benchmarking
- Develop and implement supplier management/supplier process improvement projects, track cost reduction and value add benefits, and negotiate contact amendments as appropriate.
- Implement lessons learned from debriefs with stakeholders to ensure any issues or clarifications on Procurement outcomes are addressed
- Reporting/Compliance activities including preparation of monthly/quarterly reports for business units and senior management
- Conduct regular meetings with the suppliers and key internal stakeholders and maintenance of associated records
**To succeed in this role, you will have**:
- Degree qualified - Commerce, Business, Law or Engineering (preferred)
- Strong understanding of all aspects of the Network Services Procurement Categories and knowledge of the suppliers that operate within these domains
- Extensive experience in end-to-end procurement, preferably in a Utility Services, global or major corporate organisation for major projects
- Experience across the full range of procurement activities including category management, vendor management and/or strategic sourcing
- Experience negotiating contracts on both supplier terms and conditions and corporate terms and conditions
- Experience working within a major organisation in procurement of direct services, preferably within utilities.
