At the Riverwood site we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Innovation and Development Chef to join the New Product Development team reporting to the Head of Food. This is a permanent, full-time role working Monday to Friday.

This role will see utilising your creative flare by contributing to our new product concepts and future innovations. You will be commercially astute able to balance the needs of the customer and business when creating appealing quality products upscaling concept recipes for production trials.

Being a team player, you enjoy working cross functionally to deliver product development projects from conception to completion maintaining your culinary excellence whilst meeting the project brief and timeframes.

Working with the internal NPD team and relevant external stakeholders this role will see you researching and identifying emerging consumer market trends in ingredients, products, and packaging. This role will also see you using your knowledge of ingredient regulations and food safety liaising with the QA and Operations team to ensure labelling and specification compliance.

Being an adept communicator, you will be able to present information and ideas to internal stakeholders and customers in a timely and effective manner. Using your technical knowledge, you will be able to prepare internal reports and documentation to ensure standardisation of NPD processes.

**You will have**:

- Diploma level or equivalent qualification in commercial cookery and at least two years’ experience as a commercial chef
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative product recipes
- Working knowledge of interpreting ingredient lists and nutritional information
- Solid understanding of food safety including HACCP principals
- Understanding and awareness of customer needs
- A team player with a passion for food

Applicants with experience in a similar manufacturing environment is preferable but consideration will be given to those with hospitality experience.

Salary $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation depending on skills and experience.
