The Product & Planning team is responsible for client product development, planning and execution to meet the needs of clients, while also managing the enterprise wide programming of all commercial initiatives and client products.
The network programming and planning function is responsible for driving profitable growth through an enterprise-wide client product prioritisation program. This is to ensure clarity, focus & efficiency to the delivery and sell-through of our initiatives to market which is guided by market demand. All programming is done with a high level of commercial strategic analysis which uses research and insights to ascertain trends and behaviours. The role must look at real time data for spend levels and spend trends.
**What’s the role?**
- Develop an annual roadmap and pipeline of network wide commercial initiatives relevant and of value to both client and product teams.
- Deliver initiatives as a clear and concise view, communicating these across all business divisions.
- Ensure that News Corp Australia maximises the value and sell-through of each initiative through strategic planning.
- Support in the development of new and innovative initiatives with brand and product teams that help in differentiating News Corp Australia from competitors.
- Support and develop initiatives in partnership with brand and product teams to develop unique offerings that are relevant for our clients and consumers which are anchored in market demand and consumer insight.
- Lead the Ideas Framework process where all initiatives are validated for consideration and programming. Ensuring our process is agile and usable, inline with financial and TDD processes/approvals.
- Offer a strategic network POV at all brand, product and senior business unit strategy sessions to support client team needs and objectives.
- Help deliver an annual view on effectiveness of network programs, with a goal to increase YOY conversion.
- Drive revenue growth through a strategic approach to network proactive initiatives and working closely with brand and product teams.
- Build and manage a forward program which must support the overall client sales revenue target.
- Establish and maintain governance and compliance of the Ideas Framework and network program across the business.
- Review performance of network initiatives and make recommendations on changes to the programming of activity across all contributing teams.
- Collaborate with sales to ensure feedback from the market is captured and used to refine, innovate and develop our proactive initiatives.
- Align with brand and product teams to ensure initiatives are put through the Ideas framework for review and validation prior to programming.
- Align with Newsamp & Product Integration teams to ensure build & delivery of network initiatives are on track.
- Work with other relevant stakeholders across GIC, Consumer Marketing, Trade Marketing and Events and Experiences to ensure an aligned, strategic network approach is achieved.
- Understand the market and sales trends to be able to identify opportunities based on short term and long term initiatives to meet proactive needs.
- Work with relevant strategy and insight teams to ensure you are operating off current insight from market and consumer to determine networking opportunities.
**Who you are**
- University degree in business, media advertising or marketing.
- Leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes and challenges (more than 5-10 years).
- Experience in working in a matrix system and ability to influence for the right business outcome.
- Experience in leading and managing programming to meet client or business objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple work streams/projects at one time in a fast pace and at times ambiguous environment.
- Experience in understanding insight and data to help shape a strategic approach to meeting business objectives.
- Strong stakeholder management.
