You will work in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) or SDA to help provide participants with personal growth and independence.

**About the role**

We are looking for support workers who have industry experience, manual handling skills and the following attributes:

- Provide support to participants with physical and/or intellectual disability.
- Provide personal care to persons with disability.
- Execute designated tasks and activities as instructed to meet the client’s personal needs/community support/empowerment, team objectives and/or program goals.
- Fulfil designated duties/tasks as the employer instructs when requested/required. This includes working across all client groups when and if required.
- Participate in regular team meetings.
- Carry out duties/activities in a cooperative, respectful, and flexible manner.
- Adhere to the service/facility communication, reporting and participant/program progress practices and procedures.
- Respond to crises in accordance with specified guidelines (Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct, Incident Reporting) and seek assistance in situations outside of specified guidelines.
- Participate in developing and monitoring individual program plans and be accountable for their outcomes.
- Establish good working relationships and work closely and collaboratively with team members to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role. Providing support to colleagues when required.
- Participate in on-the-job training/site induction when required and/or requested by your supervisor.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and performance.
- Establish good working relationships and networks with other community organisations to keep abreast of community activities and initiatives.
- Work under general guidance from the participant and their family seeking support within clearly defined guidelines.

**Mandatory requirement**
- 6 months experience
- Certificate III in Disability, or Individual Support or equivalent
- First Aid, CPR, Manual Handling, and Medication Administration training or willing to obtain.
- NDIS workers Screening Checks
- Current Driver’s License (**mandatory**).
