**About the role**
Went to See the Gypsy is a destination restaurant cafe located in the heart of Alexandria.
An exciting opportunity has become available for a bubbly, hands-on and passionate Front of House Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for the following:
- Providing exceptional levels of customer service
- Maintaining restaurant presentation, cleanliness and maintenance.
- Oversee the dining room to ensure that every guest is delighted with their experience
- Coordinating reservations and ensuring smooth operations
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints
- Motivate, empower and train our close knit team to provide an exceptional guest experience and maintain a fun and caring culture
- Mentor staff to encourage their personal growth and development
- Lead, train and encourage the team to create a special experience our customers will remember.
- Assist to train casual staff to appreciate the art of great food, coffee and wine
- FOH rostering, ordering and stocktake
- Day to day operations of the FOH
- Actively contribute to the recruitment, selection and training of new staff
**Skills and experience**
- Experience working with a diverse team of experienced staff
- Exceptional product knowledge and ability to drive consistency and excellence
- A passion for food and a sound understanding of premium wine, beer and spirits. Bar experience is beneficial
- Posses strong wait skills including carrying three plates and a tray of drinks
- Great presence on the floor and a 'hands on' attitude
- Be able to hold conversations with people from all walks of life
- Be a passionate and highly motivated team player, leading the team by example
- A strong work ethic
- Have the ability to delegate effectively
- Strong understanding of food health and safety handling
- Influencing, coaching and presentation skills
- Knowledge and skills to develop staff around product knowledge, service skills, team culture and customer relationships
- Great communication skills and ability to keep cool, calm and collected under pressure
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
- A minimum of 3 years of management experience
**Salary**: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Every weekend
- Flexible hours
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Alexandria, NSW 2015: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Front of house managment: 1 year (preferred)
