**What you’ll be working on**

This role oversees and manages the overall maintenance of the fleet and fuel management functions for regional FedEx Stations based within the area of responsibility. This includes but not limited to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that are relevant to fleet management functions and providing the necessary support to achieve objectives and ensure continuous improvement within the team and company.
- Implement and monitor FedEx Express Fleet management corporate processes and procedures at all depots in the regions - VIC, TAS, SA, WA and NT.
- Lead and co-ordinate a team for vehicle replacement programs for each region.
- Planning strategies to improve maintenance standards to reduce vehicle operational downtime and maintenance costs.
- Assist in the continual development, improvement and maintenance the fleet management system.
- Liaise with the Senior Manager Vehicle & Ground Support Equipment in relation to vehicle replacement programs.
- Manage and monitor fleet registration and renewal processes for each region including annual renewals, vehicle inspections, cancellations and transfers.
- Review all fleet maintenance costs and reports and supervising all vehicle repairs for compliance.
- Continue effective communication links between suppliers and each depot.
- Monitor FedEx Express’s policies and procedures for each regions fleet.
- Manage the sale/disposal of all vehicles for each depot.

**What you'll bring to the team**:

- Driver’s license, minimum MR (medium rigid) class.
- Post-secondary qualification in engineering, transport and/or logistics
- Heavy vehicle mechanical qualification
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team effectively
- Proven relevant transport industry and operations experience
- Experience in developing, implementing and coordinating transport and/or logistics related projects
- A team player and have the ability to build first class relationships
- Extensive knowledge in all facets of fleet management operations and functions
- Good knowledge on safe roadworthy standards for vehicles
- Excellent negotiation skills
