**About the Business Unit**:
Tarrengower is a minimum security prison accommodating up to 72 female offenders and is situated 2 kms from Maldon in Central Victoria. Tarrengower's emphasis is on release preparation and community reintegration through the provisions of programs within a rehabilitative environment. Tarrengower emphasises the principles of a healthy prison where children can be accommodated with their mothers ensuring the family unit is maintained and developed. Tarrengower strongly recognises cultural diversity, respecting individual religious, spiritual and cultural beliefs. Tarrengower has an operating model based on trauma informed practice and with a focus on child safe principles.

**About the Role**:
This position will report to the Offender Services Supervisor. You will be required to facilitate and coordinate a range of programs and recreation activities to the prison population. The role will involve the scheduling of programs, resources, and service providers to suit the operational needs of the prison.

This position will require direct prisoner contact to assist with facilitating contact between prisoners and service providers and you may be required to work flexible hours or shift work, including weekends and public holidays. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with applicable Victorian Public Service Agreement.

Some of your duties will include:

- Planning, developing and implementing prisoner programs and activities
- Assessing the program and recreational needs of Tarrengower's prison population, preparing program proposals for the Offender Services Manager, and assessing the effectiveness of the programs and activities that are offered
- Co-ordinating external program service providers including community groups, not for profit organisations, and contracted providers.

**About You**:

- Demonstrated experience in the planning and delivery of transitional and/or recreational programs
- Skills or experience in the development or funding/grant submissions
- The ability to accept changed priorities without undue discomfort while responding quickly to changes. Comfortable working in collaboration with teams outside of own organisation.
- Qualifications/Requirements:_
- A qualification in health and/or fitness or similar is highly desirable
