Firbank is seeking proactive and experienced casual Rowing Coaches for the upcoming **2025/2026 Rowing Season**.

A Casual Rowing Coach is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of Firbank’s rowing program to students in a way that promotes overall success in line with Firbank’s core values. Under direction from the Head of Rowing, casual Rowing Coaches will aid the implementation of the program, provide leadership and direction to rowers, cater for a range of ability levels from beginners to elite athletes.

**Casual Hourly Rate (adult)**: $32.56 (weekend rates differ).

**Application close**: Friday June 20th, 2025.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Deliver safe and engaging on-water and land-based sessions.
- Develop an understanding and align coaching with the Firbank Rowing vision.
- Implement the training program for squad or crew, adapting program to skill levels of athletes.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of participants at all times.
- Support athletes in developing fitness levels and technical rowing proficiency.
- Assist with rowing program operations where required.
- Attend all required regattas, camps and training sessions required for your squad.
- Maintain clear communication with the Head of Rowing, squad coordinator and athletes at all times.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive team environment.
- Develop understanding of all relevant Firbank policies and procedures and uphold at all times.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Rowing Australia, Level 1 Rowing Coach Accreditation (or willingness to complete).
- Current Working with Children Check (employee).
- First Aid & CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Marine License is desired, but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of rowing technique and training principles.
- Willingness to learn and foster your development as a coach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict.
- Demonstrate adaptability and resilience.
