We are seeking a Test Lead working within the High-Performance Computing (HPC) Stream is required to provide Test Management that shall contribute to the core program objectives of improved security, stability, and resilience across ICT environment. The HPC Test Lead will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and reporting of all test phases (in conjunction with vendors and project managers where applicable), including Factory Acceptance.

The role Duties Include:

- Work with the Program Test Director and other Test Managers to devise, execute and manage fit-for-purpose test approaches and solutions across the HPC Stream within the ROBUST program of work.
- Manage the planning, execution, and reporting of all test phases (in conjunction with vendors and project managers where applicable), including Factory Acceptance, System, Integration, User Acceptance, Performance, Disaster Recovery/ Failover, and Security Testing.
- Manage testing efforts of HPC support teams during relevant test phases.
- Plan and manage the testing and commissioning of complex scientific models on new infrastructure
- Manage the testing of HPC model outputs by SMEs and operational forecasters in verification trials.
- Manage complex test data required which includes a wide variety of scientific formats and volumes needed to cover off scientific (historical vs real-time, seasonal vs extreme weather) accuracy and ICT testing needs. This data includes gridded data, spatial data as well as high volume observational data.
- Manage testing activities by SMEs used to confirm forecast accuracies as determined via statistical analysis across trial run periods.
- Ensure test activity alignment to test strategy, approaches, test practices and processes.
- Assist and drive resource planning, procurement and test estimation activities.
- Assist with developing a continuous improvement culture and actively look and participate in opportunities to improve the testing operating model.
- Ensure that test metrics and reporting mechanisms provide appropriate decision-making information for the test team and external stakeholders.
- Work with shared program testing services such as Test Automation, Performance, Defect Management and Security to ensure efficient and effective use across the program.
- Assist with Test Team alignment to overall Strategy.
- Work with Environment and data leads to ensure that of environment and data requirements are successfully met.

**Core skills Requirements**

**Mandatory**
- 10+ years in Test Lead
- Experience test managing complex, mission critical, large-scale systems within a large program of work.
- Experience in Test landscapes that include many integrated systems, various stakeholders, and multiple vendor teams.
- Experience in providing test management across a technology stack that spans secure networks, high data volumes and high-speed compute, large scale storage and related processes and procedures, governance, and policy.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work with different areas of the organisation to gather information.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and thrive.

**Desirable**
- IT Qualification.
- Demonstrated previous experience in a similar role
