**Introduction**:
These positions are responsible for supporting people who are frail aged and/or people who have a disability. The program is inclusive and provides opportunities for participants to be as independent as possible. Assistance required is: personal hygiene facilitation, mobility support, shopping tasks, food preparation, housework tasks, and the coordination of social events. The Office is located at the Ochre Health Building, Kippax ACT. This position will be working at participants homes and community locations. Some lifting and bending will be required, when providing Domestic Assistance. A current driver’s license and access to a road worthy and comprehensively insured vehicle is compulsory.

**Description**:
**To be successful you will have**:
Demonstrated respect and understanding of the participant group.
Experience and high level skills in the provision of domestic assistance.
Demonstrated ability to focus on skill development and abilities of individual participants in a manner that enhances their independence.
Proven ability to work as a team member and provide regular feedback including the timely reporting of any important information relating to individuals to Coordinators.
Demonstrated ability to engage members of the target group and their carers.
Ability to work with flexibility, to use initiative and to explore new and innovative methods of service delivery.
Great interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality and the ability to effectively manage time.
Sound understanding of own responsibilities under the Work Health and Safety Act and ability to seek out and follow policies, procedures and safe work guidelines
Ability to work under direction and independently with mínimal supervision.
Skills in the Microsoft Office environment (in particular Word, Outlook and Excel) and willingness to learn and use program software as required
Knowledge of and commitment to the BCS Vision, Purpose, Values and Strategic Goals
Possess the personal attributes of optimism, resilience and flexibility.
Hold a current Driver’s Licence and have access to a roadworthy, registered and comprehensively insured vehicle for work purposes

**Skills and Experiences**:
**CRCS also requires all employees to**:

- Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
- Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may effect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position
- Maintain full COVID-19 vaccination currency and provide evidence of their vaccinations to CRCS (sensitive information is kept private and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles) unless they are able to provide suitable evidence of a medical contraindication that prevents them from receiving this vaccine.
