Public Sector People (PSP) is looking to speak to an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to engage in a temporary contract with a Local Council.
**Previous experience in**
**mid-large scale organisations or Public Sector organisations will be highly regarded.**

**What you’ll deliver**
- Identify status of purchase order (eg: date & authorising officer) against invoice prior to processing.
- Match purchase orders and/or other documentation with invoices to substantiate payment.
- Perform daily batching, processing, and balancing of invoices, including refunds into the Accounts Payable information system.
- Draw and distribute creditor cheques (and EFT payments) weekly and monthly for payment of creditors, including emergency payment cheques drawn off-line.

**What you’ll bring**
- Tertiary or similar qualification in Accounting
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable functions with large ERP systems, TechOne
- Experience in corporate accounting environment, with a preference for direct experience in a public sector environment.
