Location: Ferntree Gully, on the lands of the Wurundjeri, Boon Wurrung & Bunurong Peoples | Part-time, 3-4 day max-term contract until June 2026 | Hybrid (Onsite + Travel To Local Community Events)

**What You’ll Do**

As a **Counsellor**, you’ll provide trauma-informed therapeutic support, helping clients navigate challenges such as mental health concerns, family violence, and substance use. Your work will contribute to lasting, positive change in the lives of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous, CALD, and LGBTIQ+ communities.

✔ Provide trauma-informed counselling (onsite and via telehealth)
✔ Conduct risk assessments & safety planning (MARAM framework)
✔ Develop client-centred therapeutic plans within a 6-session model
✔ Offer culturally sensitive and inclusive support
✔ Advocate for clients & connect them with relevant services
✔ Facilitate community-based health & well-being sessions
✔ Engage with local stakeholders & promote the program at community events
✔ Contribute to ongoing service development & best practice approaches

**What You Bring**

Degree in Social Work or a related Counselling qualification
Registration with AASW or ACA
Experience in trauma-informed counselling, working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, family violence, and substance use issues
Strong communication, assessment, and casework skills
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to service innovation
Current driver’s license (for community-based work)

**Bonus skills**: MARAM training and experience facilitating family sessions
