The Industry Capability Network (ICN) is a leader in finding suppliers with the right capabilities and connecting them with projects. ICN helps project owners and buyers by researching and identifying local Australian companies capable of supplying specified goods or services. There are currently over $400 billion of public and private projects listed on ICN Gateway (gateway.icn.org.au), over 80,000 companies registered and over 12,000 searches per month. In 2021-22 the network contributed to contracts worth $2.5 billion awarded to Australian companies that may have otherwise gone overseas.
ICN South Australia is embedded within the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science.
**About the role**:
The ICN Supply Chain Manager is responsible for proactively liaising with a wide range of strategic internal and external partners and key stakeholders, with a view to increasing SA industry’s participation in local, national and global supply chains.
The incumbent is expected to play a key role in the development and implementation of critical, targeted, state-wide and regional industry development programs in local, national and global project supply chains. This includes planning and co-ordinating activities related to building the capabilities of suppliers involved in major projects in South Australia and managing the development and implementation of high level import replacement and local industry participation opportunities, strategies, policies, projects. The incumbent will be required to undertake analysis and provide advice on a range of issues that support the achievement of Departmental targets and broader Government objectives.
The incumbent will be working closely with and utilising input from key internal and external stakeholders to support local businesses to develop the capacity and competitiveness to capitalise on major projects that are underway, or in planning, in South Australia thereby promoting the transformation and growth of SA’s major project supply chains in line with the Department’s business growth strategies and objectives.
This role may have a specific focus on projects and supply chains in a particular industry sector, but could be required to work across any major initiatives in the space, renewable energy, infrastructure, construction, mining, defence or other key sectors.
**About You**:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:
- Proven high level expertise in the identification, analysis and assessment of opportunities across the multiple sectors within which ICNSA conducts daily business.
- Ability to provide high level expert advice and information; transmit highly complex technical knowledge in a meaningful and understandable manner.
- Proven experience working with key high-level stakeholders, within a complex and politically sensitive organisation and the ability to lead and influence the development of commercial viability processes in association with a range of advanced manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in undertaking high level and strategic business analysis, risk and contract management services including the assessment of bids within major companies and the development of strategic options that relate to the assessment of project and procurement requirements, supply capacity and supplier facilities in key sectors such as mining, energy, defence, infrastructure and construction.
- Experience in developing networks, influencing people and managing project resources.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: commerce, finance, defence, mining, energy, infrastructure, construction, or relevant key ICN industry sector.
**Desirable Qualification**:
Tertiary qualification in a technical or business-related field, and/or substantial relevant professional experience.
**Special Conditions**:
- The role will be offered on a term contract for a period of two (2) years.
- Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) required prior to employment.
