
Disability Support Worker

We are urgently looking for a committed and understanding female support worker to join our Brisbane South team
Your role will involve providing support to participants in the community and their home and can involve travel.
**About your role**:
Your role may include, but is not limited to:
- Assisting with meal preparation, grocery shopping, light house-keeping or other domestic duties.
- Assisting with personal care including toileting, bathing and personal hygiene, personal grooming, hair and skin care, oral hygiene etc.
- Providing transportation or accompaniment for shopping, appointment, or other activities.
- Engaging client with hobbies and interests.
- Supporting clients to participate in community activities.
- Attending LGBTQIA+ community events with participants.
- Be reliable to able to commit to regular shifts.

- A certificate III/IV in individual support or relative qualifications.
- Covid-19 digital certificate.
- Australian National Police check.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Current Blue Card.
- Current Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening clearance and NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate.
- Smart phone.
- Driver’s Licence and Car with comprehensive insurance.
- Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have the right to work in Australia.
- Be able to demonstrate commitment to clients and willingness to learn.
**Skills Needed for the role**:
- Experience working with youth and young adult participants with ASD.
- Experience working with participants in the LGBTQIA+ community.
**Experience in the any of the following areas a plus, but not essential**:
- Physical disabilities, stroke, MS or Spina Bifida, high intensity supports.
- Intellectual disability or ABIs.
- Experience with complex mental health.
- Hoisting/transfers, complex behaviours.
- Must be able to communicate, read and write in English. Other languages are plus.
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $41.00 - $86.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Morning shift
- Weekend availability

- Penalty rates
