Start your career with Slater and Gordon through our Graduate Program. Our program will provide you with the opportunity to gain legal and professional skills, as well as forging and maintaining relationships of trust and confidence with clients and colleagues.

Offering on the ground experience through rotations across our personal injury and class actions practice groups, and a formal development program all to help you learn the key skills and attributes of a qualified Slater and Gordon lawyer. Our Program will include:

- ** Induction** An induction program covering our firm strategy, history, culture and values, all with the view to set you up in your Slater and Gordon journey.
- ** Client Experience** Client focused immersion experience working alongside our client triage team.
- ** Practical Legal Training (PLT)** A guaranteed PLT program experience in partnership with The College of Law.
- ** Professional Development**Structured development program focusing on your professional and legal development.
- ** Relationships**A platform to build internal key stakeholder relationships via networking and social events.
- ** Mentoring**Guaranteed access to a dedicated buddy, mentor and supervisor to assist you on your journey.
- ** Admission** Support and celebration around your succession and moving your Admission with the Supreme Court.

**What are we looking for?**

As a Graduate Program participant, you will learn and develop to become responsible for the following:

- Develop sound knowledge and understanding of the case law across the practice groups.
- Actively develop skills and knowledge by shadowing an experienced practitioner.
- Learn the key skills to identify relevant legal issues and consider a range of solutions and preferred outcomes.
- Learn and understand how to manage client expectations, seeking guidance from a senior lawyer where appropriate.
- Work with senior lawyers, counsel and external experts as required to clarify and resolve complex legal issues.
- Understand and learn how to relay Fair Go Funding advice to clients in a clear and informative manner, promptly addressing any client queries or concerns.
- Learn to draft and produce quality letters of advice.
- Develop strong and trusted relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally in the legal market.
- Comply with the firm’s National Practice Standards.

**What will you bring?**

**Education/Qualifications/Memberships**
- Bachelor's degree (Law)
- Dual Degree (Science, Commerce, IT, Arts) highly desirable
- Strong Academic Achievement

**Previous Experience**
- Strong customer service experience (particularly in a part time casual role)
- Any advocacy, social justice or volunteer work experience
- Experience in a community based legal environment is highly desirable
- Previous leadership positions: Student Unions, Societies or Not for Profit organisations
