Here at Scoop/Localista, our Writing and Marketing internship is happening. We guide students who want to learn about copywriting, editing and marketing skills at the industry level.

Scoop has been a leading publisher and digital media brand in Western Australia since 1997 as Scoop Magazine.

Localista is a tech start-up developed as part of the Scoop portfolio and at the cutting edge of native content syndication and content marketing. Launched in September 2023, localista is already the largest lifestyle & travel network in Australia and New Zealand. We work with 50,000 suppliers updating 800,000 pages of landing pages and blogs attracting more than 250,000 unique users per month. Our mission is to give spotlight to smaller businesses so that they are able to compete in the tough digital market.

We’re big in the local creative and arts industry as well, working with big name clients such as WAAPA, Revelation Film Festival, Artitja Fine Arts Gallery, The Lester Prize, Yirra Yaakin Theatre Co. and more.

**About the role**

We provide university students and graduates with the opportunity to work with our team and build practical skills that are essential in the industry. We aim to make this internship opportunity to be flexible - depending on how you want to create your internship experience, we can provide you with tasks that range from creative writing to digital marketing.

The tasks that you could be involved with are:

- Researching, copywriting and uploading editorial blogs
- Updating localista website content
- Newsletter creation
- Data entry and management of directory content
- Social media content creation and management
- SEO strategy and reporting through Google Analytics and Search Console

We’re excited to also share with you that we are currently transitioning into sales and marketing mode, so you will be sure to get exposure on how businesses work and would be able to see your work contributing to real life metrics.
- Please note that at this time, we are _**not **_taking internships for data science, IT and software engineering._

**About you**

This internship would best suit people with degrees similar to Creative Writing, Marketing, Media and Communications.

We have also successfully mentored students who wished to undertake internship as part of their university credit.

While we assume no base knowledge, we are looking for applicants that are smart, enthusiastic, engaged, and quick to learn. This position is not for the faint hearted. You will be treated like a member of the team, given real world responsibilities and the opportunity to develop the skills and confidence you need to kickstart a career in Creative Writing and Marketing.

Please note that you should also be available for:

- A minimum of two full days for a minimum of three months
- Normal workday hours are 9am to 5pm (can be flexible)
- Commuting to our office located in Subiaco, Perth
