**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Conducting inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations and standards
- Providing advice and guidance to businesses and the community on environmental health matters
- Responding to and managing environmental health complaints and incidents
- Assessing and approving food premises, public swimming pools, and other public health and safety facilities
- Providing education and training to businesses and the community on environmental health best practices
- A degree in Environmental Health or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Extensive experience in environmental health regulation and compliance
- A current driver's license
