**About our role**:
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and commercially astute Category Development Manager to join our Commercial team. Based at our Chifley head office and reporting into the Head of Category Development, you will be responsible for supporting the Category Development team to provide a clear category and shopper strategy to drive growth for both Simplot and the category in both the Retail and Food Service channels.
In addition, the role is focused on developing and executing Category Management principles in collaboration with the Category and Sales teams and identifying category drivers to bring growth to Simplot and its customers.
**What you will do**:
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing category/shopper insights, analytics and recommendations to the sales and category team to enable the development of the 0-3yr commercial operations plan
- Supporting the development and execution of the annual Category Plan, focusing on both the short
- and long-term shopper strategies (Range, Space, Visibility, Price)
- Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Range reviews and strategy day analysis and recommendations
This role will also proactively identify business development opportunities outside of the range review cycle; including working with NAMs and NSMs to maximize our range returns on shelf, highlighting changes in competitor activity and the potential impacts on the Simplot business, proactively supporting the Sales and Marketing team with insights and recommendations to build Simplot’s credibility with the customer.
**About you**:
This is a highly visible and rewarding role with a variety of customer and internal stakeholder engagement responsibilities across a variety of categories.
The successful applicant will have strong analytical experience to deliver insights and have a strong foundation in the use of Nielsen/Aztec software, and the ability to tell simple stories from complex data. Ideally you will be working in a similar Senior Category Development role. You will need to be comfortable in front of Customers and senior leadership at Simplot.
