Reporting into the Head of Wealth and Personal Banking (WPB) the Head of Lending Services will lead, manage and drive the Lending Services team, handling Cards & Unsecured Lending and Secured Lending for WPB (Cards & Mortgage) CMB and GB customers (Cards), within Digital Business Services. The aim is to deliver efficiencies via simplification, re-engineering and right-shoring of processes where it makes sense in achieving the desired saves. To stay focused on global strategy, imbibing a global mind-set, aligning to global business demand, implement globally consistent models, leveraging global scale and adopting standard global tools to provide a compliant and efficient processing.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ensure day to day processing is achieved within SLAs and KPIs.
- Initiate continuous improvements across all key areas of operations management, people, processes and systems.
- Build, maintain and enhance the operations culture/operational excellence of the department.
- Ensures compliance with regulations, policies, guidelines, audit recommendations and procedures/procedural guidelines are adhered to.
- To implement the Group Compliance policy locally by managing compliance risk in liaison with the Local Compliance Officer, ensuring adequate compliance resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture.
- Manage, measure and mitigate operational risk associated with the role and take action to minimize the likelihood of operational risk occurring, including risk identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.
Requirements
**Requirements**:
- Significant experience in managing large operational teams preferably within their financial services sector.
- Relevant experience of successfully developing and managing relationships with third party suppliers
- Previous experience in Operations Management including strong operational control capabilities and a proven track record in delivery
- Demonstrated experience managing offshore resources is preferable.
- Considerable experience driving process efficiencies while maintaining cost controls.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
- Excellent planning, organizing and commercial skills including strong financial management capability
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Ability to maintain composure and drive right outcomes under high risk business recovery scenarios
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
