**Here's an overview of our role**:
The role of the GIS Technician is responsible for the provision of geospatial and/or facility data management services in support of the efficient, accurate and timely recording, maintenance and the provision of asset information.

**Your role will cover the following but not limited to**:

- Undertake all necessary data collection, editing, formatting and analysis to maintain an efficient geospatial environment in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.
- Ensure that the capture, maintenance, and integrity of spatial data meets the business and statutory requirements, including direct liaison with internal and external parties and Jemena stakeholders including field personnel.
- Ensure that related systems and record repositories are appropriately updated, and that relationships between the GIS and other systems are maintained (e.g. ADMS (SCADA, DMS & OMS), SAP, Drawbridge).
- Undertake programmed and ad-hoc mapping projects to a high cartographic standard.
- Provide mapping and CAD services in support of both routine Operations & Projects (e.g. Design drawings/maps, Alignment Sheets, Property Sketch Plans, Topographic and Cadastral Map series and other maps) as required for Design, Construction, As-Building & Handover purposes.
- Undertake programmed and ad-hoc mapping projects to a high cartographic standard.

**A little about you**:

- Tertiary qualifications in GIS, Geomatics or a related discipline, or a Certificate in either GIS or Electrical disciplines with a minimum of 1-3 years demonstrated GIS experience or 3-5 years working in the electrical utility industry with demonstrated GIS experience.
- Understanding of electrical systems in relation to a GIS in both a geographically and geo-schematically cartographic views.
- Working knowledge in the use of GIS, CAD and information systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of data management, cartographic & spatial reasoning skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of Sub transmission, High Voltage and Low Voltage electrical networks reticulation and the components that make up that network.
