**About Us**
Greater Northern Community Services provides supports for adolescents and adults living with disabilities to reach their full potential. We work closely with our clients supporting them with daily self-care activities, attending appointments, community access with the focus on encouraging and promoting active, healthy and positive lifestyle choices.
**The Role**
We are looking for Disability Support Workers within a very strict criteria as requested by our participant in **Brunswick**. We are seeking someone who is reliable, punctual, and confident in supporting an adult with complex needs.
The participant requires transport and support to attend **TAFE located in Jacana** and ongoing supervision throughout the day.
- Note: We understand these requirements are specific, but the participant will be most comfortable with someone who closely matches this criteria._
**Participant Preferences (must strictly meet all)**:
- **Male Support Workers Only**:
- **Fluent in English**:
- **Australian or European background only**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Transport participant safely from Brunswick to Jacana for TAFE attendance
- Remain with the participant at TAFE to provide supervision, support, and engagement
- Support with social interaction and emotional regulation throughout the day
- Encourage routine, independence, and community participation
- Build rapport and maintain consistent, professional boundaries
- Follow participant’s support plan and implement strategies as needed
- Record daily notes and communicate regularly with the care team
- Ensure safety and wellbeing at all times.
**Work Hours**:
- **Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm**:
- **Weekends: 11:00am - 4:00pm**:
- Ongoing role with consistent hours
- **Immediate start available**
**Remuneration**
- You will be paid **fortnightly**.
Rates will be **competitive** and based on experience and qualifications, in line with industry standards (+ Superannuation).
Specific rates will be discussed with successful applicants.
**Eligibility Criteria**
- Must meet all participant preferences (see above)
- **Experience supporting participants with mental health conditions is essential**:
- Experience in disability, youth, or community support highly regarded
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, or related qualification (preferred)
- Current **NDIS Worker Screening Check**:
- **Working With Children Check (WWCC)**:
- **First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011)** and **CPR (HLTAID009)**:
- **National Police Check** (issued within the last 12 months)
- Full **Driver’s Licence** and **reliable vehicle**:
- Must have the **right to work in Australia**
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Every weekend
- Monday to Friday
Work Authorisation:
- Australia (preferred)
Work Location: In person
