**The opportunity**
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for a Risk Officer to join the Risk Advisory Branch in supporting risk owners to identify and manage risks inherent in their operating activities and strategic initiatives.
12-month initial Labour Hire contract with the opportunity to extend. APS6 level role paying an hourly rate of $58.50 + Superannuation. To be based out of either Richmond or Geelong.
This is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks, with 8-hour days expected.
**About the role**:
The APS6 Risk Officer is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents.
The role is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Developing and implementing mitigation strategies in conjunction with business representatives by evaluating business initiatives and projects.
- Drafting and providing information to maintain risk policies, plans, frameworks and guidelines to provide awareness on risk management best practices.
- Preparing and reviewing a range of written material including reports and corporate documentation.
- Assisting in monitoring KRI's, risk appetite and tolerance, and assisting with the implementation of corrective action plans to mitigate risks.
- Maintaining accurate risk and compliance data/registers within the Agency Risk Management System.
- Identifying and extracting risk and mitigation data to enhance insight into business activity.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to develop comprehensive risk profiles for projects and work streams.
- Managing relationships with delegated Business portfolio, providing advice and communicating key issues and areas of risk to relevant stakeholders.
**About you**
- ** Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position**:
- Exposure to RSA Archer advantageous
- Experience within Risk Management
- Strong Stakeholder Engagement & Management
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
- Experience within Project Management highly regarded
- Prior experience within Disability or Government environments highly regarded
