**The Opportunity**
At the heart of Water Corporation is our Operations group which is responsible drinking & waste-water services across the state. Our newly formed Integrated Operations business unit, formed around a central control facility, delivers state-wide scheme operations, major operations contract management, network optimisation, analytics, and insights for our service delivery process.
You’ll play a big part in implementing strategy that will integrate people, process, and technology across our Operations Group for the benefit of the Water Corporation, driving greater value for our customers and our community. At the forefront of developing a new strategy from the ground up, you will see your work come to life, contributing to a strategy that will shape the business over the next ten to fifteen years.
**What the role will involve**
To lead this essential business unit and deliver on our corporate strategy, you will develop, communicate, and deliver the strategic plan through high performing, commercially astute and customer focussed teams. You’ll spend time developing talent to become next generation leaders and technical experts benefiting the broader corporation and industry sector.
You’ll drive change, bringing lots of moving parts together, building positive momentum and ensuring the change is considered and effective. You’ll also have the opportunity to shape your own role without legacy processes and systems.
12-18 months from now? You’ll know you’ve made a significant imprint by building the foundational characteristics of an operations strategy, as well as bedding in a culture of continuous improvement.
**Key accountabilities include**
- Working collaboratively with the leadership team to develop an Operations strategy aligning the Corporate, Customer and Asset Management strategies into one cohesive plan.
- Facilitating the generation of ideas and fresh perspectives, seeking ways to achieve greater value
- Oversight of operational integration activities to ensure commercial and customer strategic outcomes are achieved, in alignment with Corporate objectives.
**Key skills and experience**
You are a positive, strategic thinker with an eye for continuous business improvement who brings energy into a complex environment.
You have extensive experience leading a Business Unit or Function in an operational or service delivery environment in a multidisciplinary organisation, and substantial experience working with control centre/operational field technology.
You have well developed leadership skills, with experience in leading, motivating and developing effective teams to drive and achieve improved outcomes
Your extensive kaizen/lean/six sigma experience guides you towards optimising networks and processes. You know what a good day looks like and you know how to measure it.
