About the role
Elders is investing $25 million to establish a world-first, wool handling service. To assist with the project delivery and ongoing requirements of this start-of-the-art facility, we are looking for a Freight and Logistics Implementation Lead to implement and coordinate all inbound and outbound logistics requirements to support the establishment of Elders’s new Wool handling business.
Once the business is operational, this role will coordinate the inbound and outbound deliveries, ensuring that Elders achieves agreed service levels while providing cost-efficient warehousing and distribution to its customers.
**Responsibilities**:
Develop and implement an efficient logistics strategy to support the establishment of Elders's new Wool handling business-
- Support the development of and assist in the implementation of the wool-handling Supply Chain plan-
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound deliveries, ensuring timely and cost-effective service levels are achieved-
- Manage all aspects of the freight and logistics process, including transport, warehousing, and inventory management-
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and third-party logistics providers-
- Monitor and report on all logistics activities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes where necessary-
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards-
- Develop standard operating procedures-
- Manage logistics supplier performance through periodic reviewsAbout you
To thrive in the role, you will- Previous experience in a logistics role preferably in a retail or agricultural input environment-
- Understanding of Supply Chain processes and systems-
- Solid financial acumen and experience in contract management-
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills-
- Agricultural or related industry experience desirable-
- Advanced Excel skills-
- Experience in establishing supplier contracts and service level agreementsAbout Elders
