**About the OPPORTUNITY**

We have an excellent opportunity for an **Apprentice, Trainee and Outreach Coordinator**to join our business, based in Edinburgh Parks, SA.

In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating and further developing the STEM outreach program across Defence Delivery as part of the Advanced Manufacturing Business.

Working with the Early Careers team, the role will be responsible for coordinating the onsite work experience program, liaising with Technical Colleges to support work placement activities and coordinating school and other community outreach programs. The position is responsible for the effective coordination of the apprentices and traineeship programs on site and through their Vocational studies.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, with options of working a 9-day fortnight and/or hybrid working.

Key responsibilities include:

- Coordinate apprenticeship and traineeship programs onsite and through the nominated Registered Training Organisation (RTO)
- Provide an appropriate level of pastoral care to apprentices and trainees minimising barriers to success
- Lead STEM outreach activities, which includes the promotion of career opportunities at career expos, where some out of hours work may be required
- Support the Heights Technical College with work placement opportunities
- Establish and coordinate the wider work experience program, including tours of our site premises, visits to local schools and student mentoring programs
- Manage a team of volunteers and STEM influencers based at Edinburgh Parks, maintaining regular communication, support and advice to the team and enlisting their support for community program activities
- Reporting of community program activities to relevant stakeholders including the Early Careers team and input to BUR reporting
- Develop and maintain valid and valuable relationships with external stakeholders (RTO's, VET in Schools coordinators etc.)
- Undertake appropriate administrative activities that support traineeships and apprenticeships to ensure that Government, legislative and business requirements are met

**About YOU**
- Prior experience working with trades and apprentices
- Understanding of how apprenticeship programs work
- Understanding of contracts relating to training programs and experience engaging with RTO's
- Ability to coordinate and develop programs autonomously
- Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders
