Contracts and Business Development Support Officer - Role can be based in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra.
The Opportunity
This is a newly created position for a Contracts and Business Development Support Officer to join our Government & Defence Business Unit at Toll Group. This role can be based from any of our locations such as Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or Canberra.
This role sits within our Theatre Supply Chain division of Government & Defence. Toll Theatre Supply Chain delivers logistics services to Government and Defence Clients, to enable their operations, wherever they need to operate. Toll delivers these services through a range of products and capabilities that represent key activities required within customer supply chains. These services include road transport, medical and port services.
Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, this role is responsible for developing solutions to logistics opportunities, managing client relationships, developing responses to tasking statements and ensuring the smooth execution of contracts. This role involves a combination of analytical, strategic and administrative tasks to help drive the company's growth and profitability.
This is a key role in the supporting our customers to achieve their desired operational effects by delivering effective and efficient capabilities that enable the customer’s outcomes.
As the Contracts and Business Development Support Officer, you will:
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage responses to customer tasking requests and requests for commercial solicitations (EOIs, RFP, RFT, etc).- Business Development Support: Engage directly with existing customers to identify new opportunities, develop deeper understandings of client needs, and to optimise delivery of operational solutions when secured.- Client Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients.- Administrative Support: Prepare and distribute reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation.- Safe Workplace: Ensure all activities, including those conducted by subcontractors or other third-party suppliers, are performed in accordance with Toll’s Safety Obsessed workplace culture, quality assurance principles and environmental responsibilities.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations Management, or a related field.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain programs, ideally within a large logistics company.- Demonstrated experience in business development or sales focused roles.- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address service delivery issues and improve processes.
