**Core Responsibilities**
1. Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
2. Performs analytical review of financial and APRA reports for superannuation fund for accuracy. Validates results and performs control checks to ensure accurate results from service providers. Resolves data issues or requests for information.
3. Oversees the completion of the group's key deliverables. Coordinates and reviews APRA returns, monthly management reporting and financial reports for accuracy. Analyses financial reports, and researches and resolves items that exceed established tolerance levels.
4. Coordinates and completes superannuation fund APRA returns and financial statements in accordance with regulatory reporting requirements. Serves as central point of contact and technical expert for the department. Shares knowledge and assists colleagues with problem resolution.
5. Drives business results through statistical analysis of business processes, team, and clients. Leads initiatives to reduce business risk and improve processes based on data collected.
6. Develops and implements operational plans to achieve departmental and corporate objectives. Works with management in the planning, development, and execution of short
- and long-range goals.
7. Oversees maintenance of documentation of procedures and workflows to ensure consistent compliance of all key controls.
8. Manages policies and procedures and identifies opportunities for improvement and makes recommendations for process improvements. Ensures controls are implemented and executed to mitigate risk.
9. Develops and maintains broad understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and ensures compliance. Keeps current on regulatory changes that will affect superannuation fund APRA returns and financial statement disclosures and works with third party service providers and auditors to develop and implement changes.
10. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**
- Minimum of five years related work experience in Superannuation APRA/financial reporting.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Accounting degree preferred.
