Demand Planners work with internal and external stakeholders to collect, analyze, review and amend demand and forecasts for products that are ranged across all locations nationally.
Utilizing the company's "best of breed" planning software Demand Planners ensure the timely and appropriate flow of critical information from suppliers, pharmacy groups, business development teams and dependent business units. They lead the execution of "Symbion Engage", Symbion's exclusive and unique Supply Chain Collaboration program through the preparation of reports and the facilitation of collaboration meetings with customers and suppliers.
Demand Planners require the ability to lead continuous improvement and problem-resolution projects within their assigned responsibilities.
- Key Information:
- 10 Distribution Centres, > 500 suppliers, >4000 customers, >50 million demand transaction per annum
- Approx 20,000 SKULS
- The requirement to engage with the many internal and external stakeholders
- Cross-functional implications for actions
- Major Challenges:
- Forecasting demand and adjusting sales history accurately in a dynamic environment across a large product range, in multiple locations. Understanding and prioritising variables such as seasonality, customer order patterns supply variability and market trends in order to reduce forecast error and increase forecast accuracy.
- Ensuring the appropriate flow of information to and from customers, suppliers, supply planners, brands, business development and others is timely and accurate to result in accurate forecasts by item/ location in the GAINS system
- Leading the execution of the customer and supplier collaboration program including reporting of KPIs, facilitating collaboration meetings and following through on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interpreting and converting external and internal information into system readable formats, which value add to the demand planning process and outputs.
