The PositionThe Principal Project Officer reports to the Executive Director, Engagement and Talent Acquisition within the Human Resources Branch, People, Information and Communication Services Division.Responsibilities include:

- Provide support to the Project Manager and Executive Director on a range of strategic initiatives including in relation to the management, implementation and contribution to the Norfolk Island Service Delivery partnership.
- Undertake research and provide high level analytical advice to the Project Manager and Executive Director on project issues.
- Prepare or contribute to reports, submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications, and correspondence
- Provide timely and authoritative advice on a range of strategic policy and regulatory issues to the Project Manager and Executive Director and identify mechanisms for improvement to optimise sustainable outcomes.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with colleagues and stakeholders in the department's HR branch, regional offices, other government sectors and community. Liaise, consult and collaborate with other work units within the department, other government departments and agencies, and relevant professional associations and networks.
- Other suitable duties, as required, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate.

Desirable skills and Experience
- Whilst not expected, knowledge of and ability to interpret relevant legislative and industrial relations frameworks is desirable.
