About the role

As a Technical Specialist - Operational Security you will provide day to day operational security and project support to customers and internal staff in conjunction with our vendors and partners. This position is required to be available for core business and after-hours support as required. The role will see you leading the planning, preparation, and implementation of complex technical activities as well as:

- Undertaking specialised technical investigations to resolve issues with security controls
- Providing expertise and advice on security controls, and processes to the Cyber Security Manager, the security team, and stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of security services to customers
- Ownership of security products like Zscaler, Proofpoint, NDR and EDR
- Developing threat analysis and incident response plans

To be successful in the role you will have:

- Experience working in IT Security role within a complex technology environment and strong understanding of shared services environments, particularly regarding delivering IT Security Services
- Experience and knowledge of various Australian standards - e.g., ISM, ASD & VPDSF/VPDSS. Knowledge of NIST advantageous
- Strong technical knowledge in Intrusion Prevention System, EDR, Zscaler Web Content Filtering and demonstrated understanding of Windows/Unix and other distributed systems and their computer security requirements
- Extensive experience in managing large, networked environments, Intrusion Prevention, Web Content Filtering and Anti-Virus, including detailed knowledge of networking and systems protocols
- Detailed understanding of IT operating models and service frameworks, including the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
