**About the Role**:
VU is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Aboriginal Placements, Careers, and Alumni Officer who will be developing and maintaining meaningful relationships with Aboriginal partners, organisations and communities to create ongoing placement and career opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at VU.
In this role, you will work to strengthen the VU First Nations Alumni network by organising events, reunions, and networking opportunities that foster a supportive community for both students and graduates
**This is a full time continuing position at an HEP 6 classification with the salary range being $88,691 - $96,001 plus 17% superannuation, working 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week.**
**About You**:
We are looking for someone with experience of working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and community-based organisations, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges they face in their daily lives and operations as well as a strong commitment to identifying areas for enhancement in placement, career development, and alumni programs, ensuring the programs evolve to meet student needs.
You have strong organisational skills and are experienced in career development practices, including resume writing, interview preparation, job search strategies, and internship placements, specifically tailored to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
You possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written), and ability to organise and prioritise workload in a busy/demanding environment.
