Casual Childcare Diploma Educator

Kindi World Childcare and Education Centre, located in Blacktown, 2148 is currently looking for Casual staff members to work permanently 2 days per week with future potential Full Time employment opportunities available.

We are looking ideally for a Cert III qualified educator (Or Diploma) who is able to work at least two shifts per week with opportunities to cover extra days occasionally as well.

**Role: Casual Childcare Educator**

To assist in providing a warm and nurturing environment in which the child can grow physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually.

Specification (knowledge, ability, skills, experience, certificates and licenses, qualifications and training, personal attributes, other requirements):
The person selected for this position must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children and be willing to fulfil responsibility in accordance with our philosophy. They must display emotional maturity and stability, and must be willing to take training in the field of early childhood education.

Children’s Services Employee Level 2 & 3 means a carer appointed by the employer to contribute to the development of and assist in the implementation of the child care program under the general direction of and responsible to a supervisor. Qualifications required for this position are Certificate II or III in Children’s Services or equivalent. An employee at this level is responsible for their own work and may be required by the employer to perform some or all of the following duties:
**Responsibilities are to**:

- Positively interact with children, give each child individual attention and comfort as required;
- Assist with ensuring a safe, healthy and clean indoor and outdoor environment for children;
- Supervise the activities of a group of children;
- Understand and work according to the service policies and procedures;
- Plan, implement and evaluate the centre program;
- Observe and evaluate children’s development;
- Record children’s development and plan for the ongoing development of the individual child;
- Communicate with parents as instructed and always in a positive manner;
- Attend to incidental cleaning and housekeeping or associated with individual and group activities, experiences and routines;
- Perform incidental administrative duties including but not limited to: completing receipts, signing deliveries, ruling up the roll, checking the roll and the like;
- Other duties as required by the employer as are within the knowledge, skills and capabilities of the carer, including duties at a lower classification; provided that this does not promote de skilling.
- An employee at this level may be required by the employer to possess and maintain a current first aid certificate under the Education and Care Services National Regulations.
- Help the children with a safe, loving and nurturing environment;
- Help the children control behaviour using a positive, appropriate approach; always be consistent and as per centre policies;
- Develop a cooperative and supportive attitude within the room/s;
- To see that the centre’s goals are implemented;
- Maintain a room environment that is safe, clean, inviting, interesting and stimulating;
- Attend all staff meetings;
- Attend workshops and in-service training;
- Report suspected cases of child abuse and/or neglect to the Director/Approved Provider and the Mandatory Reporters Hotline;
- Maintain a professional attitude and observe confidentiality of students, parents, staff and the centre;
- Be an appropriate role model to all children by displaying respect, courtesy and by using correct polite manners and language;
- Be responsible for assisting in cleaning and maintaining the conditions of the centre on an ongoing basis;
- Be responsible for assisting in kitchen preparation and clean-up duties at and before mealtimes;
- Work in accordance to food safety regulations.
- Perform other assigned duties relevant to the needs of the centre.

**Salary**: $27.31 - $30.48 per hour
