Holmes List is a long-established list of Counsel at the Victorian Bar. It consists of over 200 of the finest Barristers and Silks in Victoria. The Barristers vary in seniority from junior to Senior Counsel with over 50 years call at the Bar.
Holmes List commenced in October 1992. Paul Holmes identified a niche for an innovative List to meet the needs of younger, emerging Barristers.The List commenced with 30 Barristers and thanks to the passion to develop new ideas for clerking and service delivery, Holmes List has continued its steady growth.
- About the role_
We are seeking a full-time Accounts Clerk/Administration Assistant to join our accounts team. This role is fully on-site at our Melbourne CBD office, with hours being from 8.30am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. You will be providing administrative and accounts support in all day to day tasks, within the accounts department. It will also be required that you step in when needed on Reception and Mail Desk.
This is an entry-level position - no previous experience is needed. This position may be suitable for someone returning to the workforce after time off.
The activities associated with the role may include:
- Accounts Data Entry & Document record management
- Chasing outstanding invoices
- Accounts queries
- Reception & Switchboard telephone duties
- Document control
- Mailroom duties (DX mail, postal mail, delivering and receiving barrister’s legal documents)
We are looking for a down-to-earth individual who will work well autonomously and within a small team environment. The new employee must ensure that they are a strong team player and take initiative on daily tasks, throughout the office.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
- Data entry & document management skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong typing skills
- Excellent proofreading skills
- High degree of initiative
- Willingness to learn (across multiple departments)
- Ability to take direction
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to proactively manage changing priorities as required
