Prosecutor Grade 3, Confiscation of Criminal Assets

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is the independent prosecution authority of the Australian Capital Territory. It comprises the Director of Public Prosecutions, an independent statutory officer, and staff employed under the _Public Sector Management Act 1994_, to assist the Director.
The successful applicant will act as instructing solicitor in complex Criminal Confiscation of Criminal Assets (COCA) litigation as part of a team as well as appear as counsel in less complex matters in the various courts in particular COCA matters.

**Eligibility/Other Requirements**:Applicants will either be admitted or eligible to practice as a Barrister and/or Solicitor in the ACT. The successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal record check.
The COCA unit is a specialised civil litigation team that sits within the ODPP. Lawyers in the COCA unit do not prosecute criminal offences and the successful applicant will not act as a prosecutor. Three years post admission experience as a lawyer in relevant areas of work is preferred.
