Merchandise Planning Assistant

We are seeking a Merchandise Planning Assistant to support our Planner in optimising stock levels, managing core styles, and ensuring our Seed Heritage stores are well-equipped to meet sales targets.

This role involves assisting with range ordering, sales analysis, core auto replenishment, and stock allocations for both Australian and international businesses.

**THE ROLE**:

- Analyse sales and stock at department, class, style, size, state, and store levels.
- Report on top 30 stores' sales and stock mix to identify opportunities and ensure budget targets are met.
- Establish accurate size ratios and pack sizes for new purchase orders based on sales history.
- Forecast and optimize core stock flows to ensure adequate store coverage, preventing stockouts or overstocks.
- Highlight over/understock issues and assist in planning markdown rounds at the style/colour level.
- Prepare and manage performance style reports (PSR), sales forecasts, and daily/weekly reports as required.
- Coordinate the monthly roll-up WISSI process for your allocated region.
- Assess style fit, fabrication, and store performance history to guide stock ordering decisions.
- Adjust replenishment levels to avoid stock issues and optimize in-store stock levels.
- Set up and maintain allocation grids, model stocks, and stock levels for core lines.
- Allocate stock for new store openings, closures, or refits, considering sales trends and weeks of coverage.
- Organise national and international stock consolidations when required.
- On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Previous Merchandise Planning or Allocation experience within the retail or fashion industry, with a focus on stock management and sales forecasting will be highly advantageous.
- Ability to analyse data, spot trends, and ensure accuracy in tasks like size ratios and stock allocations.
- Understanding of how stock levels impact sales and profitability.
- Competence in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs) is crucial.
- Experience using planning software and reporting tools is also desirable.
- Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at once, managing tasks such as reporting, forecasting, and order processing.
- Proactive in identifying potential stock issues or sales opportunities and can provide solutions that align with business objectives.
- Ability to stay organised and manage your time effectively will be essential in meeting deadlines.
