**The Role**
The MHS** Surf Squad **coach develops training plans that facilitate the development of the MHS Surf Squad at Miami Aquatic Centre & Miami HS, in conjunction with the Miami Swimming Club. The MHS Surf Squad coach assumes full responsibility for the coaching of and communication with the MHS Surf Squad.
**About You**
You enjoy swimming, love working with teenage children through to adult athletes and want to teach the skills and attributes of competitive swimming, including periodised training programs, technical development and skills specific to the surf program.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with athletes that have a diverse range of ages, abilities and needs. The applicant will demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and dependable member of the Miami coaching team.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a capacity to deliver the following essential skills:
- Effectively plan and execute training plans to ensure the success of the MHS Surf Squad.
- Ensure safe, efficient and cost effective operations of the MHS Surf Squad Program.
- Actively promote the squad program and participation in the affiliated Swimming Club.
- Ensure that you are adequately qualified for the program you are delivering and all squad activities are conducted in a safe manner in a safe environment.
- Monitor Progression of swimmers through the squad program and work with the Head Coach of the Senior Surf Squad to align programming, periodisation of programs and yearly breaks/competitions.
- In conjunction with the squad program, encourage participation in and conduct all swimming competitions in a safe manner in a safe environment.
**The qualifications required for this role are**:
- Coaching accreditation - ASCTA Development or Higher
- Current Blue Card
- Pool Lifeguard qualification
- First Aid (inc. CPR) qualification
