We are seeking an experienced
**Environmental Advisor (3months contract & hybrid) **for an exciting opportunity with our client, an established brand in the water industry based in Melbourne.

**Accountabilities**:
**Strategy investigation, planning and risk management**
- Provide technical environmental assessment of Planning Scheme changes (e.g., by Victorian Planning Authority, growth area Councils).
- Detail and assess how drainage solutions will best address requirements while protecting the commercial and reputational interests of the client.
- Influence the decision-making process of government agencies, panels and councils supporting preferred environmental outcomes for development areas, e.g. through the PSP process.
- Interact with internal teams, government agencies, the Victorian Planning Authority, planning panels, councils, developers, community groups and landowners.
- Prepare reports, briefs and presentations on environmental for technical experts, non-technical stakeholders including team members.
- Work closely with the business to deliver on work program targets and customer outcomes and provide advice on complex constraints.

**Customer and stakeholder relationships**
- Provide high levels of customer service to industry participants including land developers, landowners, consultants and local government.
- Provide technical advice for servicing urban development with cost effective, sustainable and integrated flood protection, drainage, storm water quality treatment, waterway management and environmental protection infrastructure.
- Act as a point of contact to coordinate feedback to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the provision of comments on other agency work proposals that may impact on proposed infrastructure within Development Services schemes.

**Skills, knowledge and experience**
- Tertiary qualification in Environmental Management/Science or a related field.
- Proven experience in areas of land development/town planning, storm water and floodplain management, drainage infrastructure planning,engineering design and construction, environmental management orwater sensitive urban design.
- Demonstrated problem solving, conflict resolution and lateral thinking abilities.
- Ability to manage workloads to ensure agreed targets are achieved, to manage time effectively meeting tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute in a team environment.
- Ability to establish and improve collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly developed verbal and written skills using clear and appropriate language with across all hierarchic levels.
- Sound knowledge of State and Commonwealth legislation and policy, such as Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act, Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, Planning and Environment act, Aboriginal Heritage Act
