**Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant**

**Permanent Part Time - 70 hours per fortnight**

Classification: Dependent on qualifications

Award: Victorian Public Health Sector (Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2024

This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to join the Lifestyle Team, working as a Lifestyle Assistant on a permanent part time basis. In this position, you will support the Lifestyle team and work in a team that provides individual, group and community activities for residents and participants.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

- Understanding of how to support people living with dementia
- Excellent communication
- Basic Life Support Certificate

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

**Qualifications / Experience**
- Certificate IV or higher in Leisure & Health or Diversional Therapy (Desirable), Minimum Cert III in Aged Care (PCA), (or willing to undertake) and willing to undertake studies in Leisure and Health or equivalent
- Annual Basic Life Support Certificate.
- Experience in Residential Aged Care is desirable.

**Specialist Expertise**
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, carers, staff and others.
- Ability to demonstrate a person-centered approach to their work with residents
- Demonstrate an ability to work within a Multidisciplinary team, and provide flexibility when working with residents with a variety of physical, behavioural and cognitive needs
- Knowledge of the Montessori philosophy or equivalent resident-centered care program and how this changes the provision of care to residents.
- Ability to utilise computer software, particularly use of the Microsoft Office© suite.
- Demonstrate an ability to develop and review Resident Care Plans.
- Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
