**Position**: Disability Support Worker (Multiple positions available)

**Location**: SIL Bright/Fassina Way, Brighton Campus

**Salary**: $34.03 p/hour (excluding penalties)

**The Opportunity**:
For experienced Disability Support Workers, join our Supported Independent Living Services at Bright/Fassina located on the Brighton Campus. You will work within a passionate team to provide care to our resident and promote person centred care with a genuine desire to encourage social inclusion. The client with has complex and challenging behaviours, so having experience working with people with an Acquired Brain Injury will set you up for success

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- Engaging person-centred active support in areas such as emotional behaviour, education, cooking and domestic duties
- Planning and executing activities for the participant
- Ensure the effective communication is maintained at all times with all stakeholders
- Adapt service delivery and support as appropriate to meet participant needs and preferences
- Encouraging clients to make choices and decisions about all aspects of their life
- Work collaboratively with others to ensure a consistent approach to service delivery, which empowers participants to be involved in decision making and choice

**To be successful in this role**:

- Must have prior working experience with clients recovering from an Acquired Brain Injury
- Demonstrated experience with clients displaying behaviours of concern
- Have an energetic, positive, resilient and creative personality
- Able to commit to a 7-day rotating roster, morning, afternoon and night shifts
- Experience supporting people with disability and behaviours of concern utilising a professional and empathetic approach
- Possesses a good understanding of the NDIS Framework
- Experience with stakeholder communication, mediation administration and documentation

**Requirements of this role**:

- Male only service
- To undertake regular Acquired Brain Injury training
- Minimum Cert III Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care or related
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or valid DHS Disability Clearance
- Current First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 & HLTAID001)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Assist with Medication Certificate
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- Unrestricted Working Rights in Australia
- Fully Vaccinated (2 doses + booster of a TGA Approved Vaccination
