Our Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Labourer to join our dynamic team as a **Team Member - Infrastructure Operations**. As a Team Member, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our local infrastructure. You will work alongside a team of experienced professionals and contribute to the overall development and maintenance of our community's infrastructure.. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Roads & Traffic Department.
**Responsibilities**
- Perform manual labour tasks related to civil construction and maintenance, such as digging, trenching, backfilling, and compacting.
- Assist in the construction and repair of roads, footpaths, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and small plant equipment.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to all health and safety regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Provide general assistance to other trades and labourers as required.
**Requirements**:
- Current Class MR licence
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Current WH&S Induction Training for Construction Industry Workers
- Traffic Control Certificate - Traffic Controller and Implement Traffic Control Plan
- Proven experience as a Civil Labourer in a local government or civil construction setting.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks in various weather conditions.
- Knowledge of basic construction techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- White Card or equivalent construction industry induction card.
