**About the Role**:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Senior Social Worker within the Northern Adelaide Geriatrics Service.

The successful applicant will be responsible to the Clinical Manager or Nurse Unit Manager, Northern Adelaide Geriatrics Service for the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of quality geriatric services for patients of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN).

The Senior Social Worker participates as member of the community and inpatient geriatrics team within the broader Aged Care services. Optimal care and outcomes is ensured by providing a comprehensive range of Social Work services to patients across the care continuum of geriatric services. The Senior Social Worker also provides supervision to a number of social workers across the Northern Adelaide Geriatric Service.

The Senior Social Worker works in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team, to effectively plan and provide therapeutic interventions based on patient goals. This may involve consultation and liaison with the team, other professional disciplines and external organisations**.**

The Senior Social Worker is accountable for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff.

The Senior Social Worker assists in the provision and management of a service particularly in the areas of:

- Supporting social work staff and students.
- Improving social work, policy, procedures, guidelines and practices

The Senior Social Worker must work towards and meet the State wide Generic Core Competencies Framework.

To be eligible for this position, you must have a Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
