About the Role

Key purpose of this role is to deliver effective community engagement for AGL in South Australia. You will develop, manage and implement community engagement strategies to support AGL’s existing operations, including at Torrens Island Power Station and for AGL’s wind farms in South Australia.

The role also requires working closely with project managers and business leaders to develop and implement community engagement strategies to support the development of new energy projects in South Australia.

What you’ll be doing:
Develop and lead community engagement activities to support existing AGL operations in South Australia- Utilise multiple forums and channels to ensure local communities are informed, engaged and have opportunities to provide input into AGL’s operations in SA.- Manage community funding programs to deliver meaningful and measurable benefits to the communities in which AGL operates.- Support engagement with Traditional Owner groups of the lands on which AGL operates and collaborate on projects that deliver common goals.- Develop communications materials to inform communities about developments in AGL’s SA operations.- Facilitate engagement with key community groups with an interest in AGL operations, including facilitating visits and tours to AGL sites.

Support the development and construction of new energy projects in South Australia- Lead community engagement activities for the development of new renewable energy and firming projects in South Australia.- Build trusting relationships with community stakeholders in support of new renewable energy and firming projects in the State.- Develop communications materials to provide updates on key milestones for energy projects under development.- Work closely with Project Managers and Project Teams to support the successful and timely development and construction of new energy projects in South Australia.- Support engagement with the Traditional Owners of lands on which AGL is developing new energy projects.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- Experience in developing and implementing community engagement strategies for diverse community stakeholders.- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong relationships with a diverse range of people.- The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team and effectively manage time and prioritise workload- An understanding and experience of using a variety of communication channels, appropriate to the target group, to communicate information.- Frequent travel within South Australia is required.
