***About the role**

This position is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and get your foot in the door to begin a rewarding career within the aquatic and leisure industry and local council.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supervise patrons in and around the aquatic area
- Set up and pack up the aquatic area for various water activities
- Implement emergency/first aid/resuscitation procedures as required
- Ensure customers adhere to centre rules and policies
- Perform a range of cleaning and maintenance duties

We are looking for individuals who:

- Can think on their feet and respond appropriately in high pressured situations
- Demonstrate initiative and are friendly and approachable
- Interact confidently with a diverse range of people
- Are passionate and enthusiastic about providing a safe aquatic environment for all
- Are available early mornings, late afternoons and weekends
- Have the following qualifications:

- Current Australian Pool Lifeguard Award
- Current Provide First Aid Certificate
- Working with Children Check (Employee)

Glen Eira Leisure (GEL) is a part of Glen Eira City Council (GECC). GEL owns and operates three industry leading aquatic and recreation facilities and prides itself on providing leading edge services to all ages and members of the community. Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC) is one of Australia's premier Sports and Aquatic Centres that features state of the art aquatics, fitness, sports, rehabilitation, wellness, café and occasional care facilities. Carnegie Swim Centre (CSC) is a seasonal outdoor pool which has been servicing the community for over 60 years. Caulfield Recreation Centre (CRC) is a fully equipped gym which offers personal training and group fitness classes. With over 1.7 million attendances annually, these popular facilities are widely used by the local and regional community.
