**About the role**:
This role requires a female Disability Support Worker to provide personal care and community access to a non-verbal client. This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work and provide the services for a leading registered service provider.

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Communication with non-verbal clients through communication devices
- Community Access
- Personal Care
- Domestic Duties
- Satisfactory client contact and interaction
- Follow established practices, procedures, care plans and care directions
- Fill progress notes and other relevant care documents for each care and support provision
- Undertake in person, online and other training as directed
- Always ensure you follow compliance requirements as per guidance, regularly checking that you follow best work practices and documentation
- Maintain the highest level of professional integrity and ensure the privacy and confidentiality of client information
- Ensure all support work practice is at the highest quality standard
- Any with various other duties.

**Essential Criteria -**

**Skills and Personal Traits**:

- Experience with non-verbal communication devices
- Empathetic - possess a real passion to care for participants
- Good communication with non-verbal clients
- Ability to work cohesively with others
- Ability to demonstrate time-management skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Must have experience working in challenging environments
- Demonstrated understanding of following stipulated procedures
- Complex Care Experience.

**Experience**:

- Must have at least one 1 year of demonstrated complex care experience undertaken in Australia in any of the following areas: Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (required)

**Qualifications**:

- A Certificate II or III in one of the following (or equivalent): Individual Support/ Aged Care/ Disability/Nursing. At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification (required)

**Licence/Certifications**:

- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or the ability to obtain one (preferred)
- Satisfactory Working with Children's Check (Employee) or the ability to obtain one (preferred)
- Satisfactory National Police Check for 'Employment in Disability' (issued less than 1 year ago) (not required if you hold a valid NDIS screening clearance) (preferred)
- Current Driver’s License, your own car and comprehensive/third party insurance (preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check ID or the ability to obtain one (required)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (preferred)
- Qualification in Health/Aged Care/Disability Services (preferred)
- Proof of Full COVID Vaccination certificate (required)
- COVID 19 Infection Control training High attention to detail to produce a high-quality standard of work (preferred)
