About the Opportunity

At FVREE we provide services across the continuum of family violence: prevention, specialist risk assessment and safety planning programs, crisis response, case management and recovery.

This role will lead our small but growing therapeutic intervention programs at FVREE. Guiding a small team of therapeutic practitioners, you and the team will work with victim survivors, including children, towards recovery from the trauma of family violence. You will draw on your professional practice skills to deliver evidence-based interventions that are trauma-informed, client-centred, inclusive and strengths-based.

Key to this role will be designing and implementing a pilot program to expand our therapeutic offering, including a focus on children and young people. Bringing deep practice wisdom and insight, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across our services team to build and evaluate a pilot program to maximise positive outcomes.

You’ll be a curious and inquiring person by nature, with an instinct for critical analysis and an appetite for innovation in service responses. This role will offer the chance to stay connected to practice and deliver therapeutic supports while taking the lead in designing new programs that amplify impact for survivors of family violence.

We are looking for someone who can
- Develop, implement and evaluate programs
- Sit with ambiguity, think creatively and see the opportunities in a rapidly changing environment
- Communicate with impact by articulating complex concepts and frameworks in simple, accessible and compelling ways
- Lead with positivity, optimism, and empathy
- Empower and engage others through curious enquiry and active listening
- Self-reflect, learn and grow through feedback and self-insight
- ‘Walk the talk’ on inclusion by valuing and celebrating diversity and actively identifying ways to break down barriers for people from marginalised groups
- Engage with clients and provide high quality therapeutic services utilising a range of therapeutic approaches
- Utilise their highly developed therapeutic skills to build trust, engage, advocate and deliver services to victim survivors and their children
- Work effectively autonomously and as part of a team

You will also need these qualifications and/or experience:

- A relevant tertiary degree such as Social Work*
- Significant practice experience in providing services for victim survivors of family violence
- Experience and/or knowledge of the LGBTIQA+ service system.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, including ability to develop and maintain partnerships and work collaboratively both internally and externally.

We celebrate diversity in all its forms, and welcome interest in our work from people with a range of experiences.

You will be deeply aligned with our values and understand that gender inequality is one of the main drivers of family violence. You’ll be motivated by advocating and upholding the rights of women and children to be safe and free.

What We Offer
- We are a specialist service so we can help you build a deep understanding of family violence practice
- We offer wrap around support for new people to develop skills on the job
- We are a welcoming, supportive and inclusive team - we are proud of our culture
- We walk the talk on inclusion: bring your whole self to work
- We believe in lifelong learning and support you to engage in professional development
- We have great benefits like parental leave, EAP and wellbeing supports
- We know flexibility is important - work a day a week from home in full time roles
